Aim:
The overall aim of the project is to increase production of pulses crop to achieve self sufficiency and ensuring food and nutritional security by providing pulse protein in the diet to maintain good health, restoration of soil health through nitrogen fixation and socio-economic development of farming community.
Objectives:
- Increased area, availability and volume of pulses crops per unit area.
- Enhancing the production and productivities of pulses through quality seeds, improve varieties and better agronomic practices.
- Increase pulses consumption through production of quality grain to reduce malnutrition among the farming communities.
- Capacity building of extension functionaries and farmers for sustainable cultivation of pulses in rice fallow by adopting latest crop production technologies.
- Improved dietary diversity and increased income of smallholders.
