Aims:
To improve the health and nutrition status of the rural and tribal farming communities by ensuring availabilities by ensuring availability and access to nutrient rich food especially vegetables and fruits through establishment of Nutrition Garden.
Objectives:
- Promoting production of nutrient-dense foods especially, fruits and vegetables for consumption throughout the year through establishment of Nutrition Garden.
- Nutrition awareness at household, community and institutional (e.g. school, ICDS centre) levels to enhance knowledge regarding nutritional aspects of vegetables and fruits and importance of their inclusion in daily diet.
- Addressing micronutrient malnutrition by increasing consumption of freshly grown vegetables and fruits throughout the year.
